Joseph was a member of Botany Fire, BSES South Greenland 1992 expedition, between sitting his A levels and getting results. Gy Ovenden and I were proud to be leaders of the best Fire on the expedition, and Joe was an enthusiastic, keen, skilled and entertaining Young Explorer. I didn't know about where his career had taken him, but I'm delighted to know that he was working to improve knowledge and treatment such an under-researched area.
